Lately, all eyes have been on Mars with the successful landing of the Perseverance rover, designed to search for signs of ancient life on the Red Planet. But Mars isn’t the only place in our solar system where NASA is searching for signs of life. One such place isn’t a planet at all but Jupiter’s icy moon Europa.
With evidence of a global ocean underneath an active, icy crust, Europa has become an increasingly intriguing destination in the search for life beyond Earth. In this live science talk, planetary geologist Cynthia Phillips will join education specialist Brandon Rodriguez to discuss how future NASA missions will explore Europa and other ocean worlds.
The presentation will include a live Q&A session and a short discussion for educators on how to bring this exciting science into the classroom with resources from NASA.
