Dr Veronica Allen is an astrochemist studying molecules in space that are related to the molecules of life (prebiotic molecules). She pursued her PhD studying astrochemistry around young high mass stars at the University of Groningen, defending her thesis in 2018. She has just finished a NASA Postdoctoral Program fellowship at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in the USA and returned to Groningen as an NWO Veni laureate to continue her work in uncovering the formation of prebiotic molecules in space.
